Success story from reader Mike Wolfe

Fellow list member Mike Wolfe replied to my message “What are you going to do today?” with a success story about his new daily writing practice (shared with permission):

Jonathan,

Funny you should ask. Today I’m speaking at my first developer conference. It’s Access DevCon Vienna. I’ll be speaking to a virtual crowd of about 150 Microsoft Access developers in 20 or so different countries.

This is a direct result of the daily writing practice I started this past September. I already have three other Access conferences lined up for the upcoming months. There’s definitely something to be said for simply showing up every day and delivering value.

Cheers,

Mike

Daily writing is the best thing I’ve ever done for my business and I know quite a few other daily emailers who say the same thing.

It deepens your thinking, sets you apart, increases your impact, builds trust, and much more.

The most shocking thing I’ve found about daily writing is that it’s actually easier than weekly writing.

It’s like a switch flips in your brain once you go daily and you start seeing ideas everywhere.

For example, I have a “list fodder” folder in my Gmail where I keep ideas for my daily list and it currently has over a thousand ideas in it.

That’s roughly three years worth of ideas! It’s like the more I write, the more ideas I have. I can’t write fast enough to get them all out.

If you are already writing weekly or monthly, give daily a try for 30 days and see if you don’t find yourself enjoying it more (and getting better results).

Yours,

—J
